President Ruto appoints clergyman David Oginde as EACC chair

President William Ruto has appointed David Oginde as the chairman, Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission, EACC.

Dr. Oginde, the former presiding bishop of CITAM, replaces Dr. Eliud Wabukhala who proceeded to retirement.

His name has been forwarded to the National Assembly for consideration.

“H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto, PhD, C.G.H has on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, nominated Bishop (Dr) David Adang Oginde for appointment as the Chairman Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission, (EACC,)” a letter from Head of Public Service Felix Kosgei reads in part.

According to Mr. Kosgei, three names were recommended to the President after a competitive exercise.

“At the end of the exercise, PSC recommended to the Head of State and Government the appointment of… Bishop (Dr) David Oginde or Hon (Prof) Kivutha Kibwana or Mr. Amani Yuda Komara,” he notes.

Dr. Oginde is the immediate former Chancellor of the Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University.

He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA.

Should Members of Parliament approve his name, he will replace Dr. Wabukhala who served for six years at the helm of EACC.
