Okoth takes oath of office succeeding his late brother

Imran Okoth has been sworn in succeeding his late brother Ken Okoth as Kibra Member of Parliament in the National Assembly.

Imran won the sit on an ODM party ticket during the November 7 consituency mini-poll after his brother’s demise in July after succumbing to cancer.

The swearing in was administered Tuesday by the Clerk of the National Assembly Michael Sialai before the House Speaker Justin Muturi.

Imran was declared winner by the nations electoral body IEBC after garnering 24, 636 votes.

His closet challenger Jubilee Party’s MacDonald Mariga conceded defeat after garnering 11,230 votes.
