A man from Nakuru who lost five of his family members in an Ethiopian Air crash says he could not have imagined that Sunday 10, 2019 would be one of the darkest days of his life.

After news that an Ethiopian Airlines plane had crashed moments after take-off, Quindos Karanja later learnt that he had lost his wife Anne Wangui, daughter Caroline Nduta and three grandchildren who were all in the ill-fated plane.

In an interview with KTN News, Karanja revealed the last conversation he had with his wife. He said she was excited to be coming back home but something did not feel right.

“It is like she was expecting something. She told me, “I am excited but I have fear in me…I don’t know why.”

“It is a message I am reading time and again,” he said.

“She was not only a wife but a friend…to the entire family…a mentor and a very supportive person,” he said.

Karanja also urged Kenyans to petition God for every one of the individuals who lost their friends and family in the accident saying it is difficult yet God is in charge.
