Mystery as Man Hangs Himself After Injuring His Wife With Sharp Object

Sorrow and grief was made clear at Namarambi village, Ndivisi ward, Webuye East Constituency in Bungoma County after a middle-aged man, Maurice Natembeya hanged himself after he fiercely attacked his wife injuring her with a sharp object after failure to solve their difference s

The middle aged couple have been having differences on daily basis.

Martin Kapilo the brother to the deceased rebuked the incident as he narrates that he came to realize after hearing the deceased screaming

He narrated that June last year he hurt his wife but later escaped the police arrest by staying in sugarcane plantation.

‘’I have been advising my brother to stop such bad habits of mishandling and harassing his wife but his has never taken it seriously, see what has happened now it is a shameful act, his wife is nursing injuries at Webuye district hospital,’’ said Kapilo the brother, adding that last year June he injured his wife he was sued in court of law but he has been evading police arrest.

He says his wife is under medical attention at Webuye County Hospital, being injured on the neck, head and on the back.

His wife being in comma could not address the press.

Fred Makokha area village elder told the press that the deceased has been very stubborn

Confirming the incident assistant area chief Douglas Wanyonyi condemned the wierd act calling in married couples to report any cases of violence to the authorised administration before deciding to commit suicide.

“Committing suicide is not the solution to this, let us work closely with local Administration and solve such,” he said, adding that such incidences have been common in the area.

The body of the deceased was taken by the police

The area assistant chief assured that police have begun investigation to find the source of the problem that resulted to the man’s ugly step as he called on residents to report such cases to the relevant authorities.
