Murkomen rubbishes Uhuru’s state of the nation speech

Deputy President William Ruto’s ally has on Thursday 12th November rubbished the speech that was made by the president on the state of the nation.

Taking to his twitter page, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen alleged that the President’s was way too long for nothing.

He advised those who writes the president’s speech to make sure it is always short and straight to the point, details to be left for the report.

“In future I hope the President’s speech writers will write short, fresh and captivating speech and avoid repeating speeches made by the President along the year.Leave the details to the submitted reports and give us something that captures our imaginations and inspires the country”, wrote Murkomen.

The president on Thursday addressed the nation on several issues affecting the country.

He revealed that the government has initiated an 8-Point Economic Stimulus Programme amounting to Ksh. 56.6 Billion.

The major objective of the Economic Stimulus Programme is to return the economy to the growth trajectory it was on pre-Corona by increasing demand for local goods and services, cushioning vulnerable Kenyans, securing household food security for the poor, and creating employment.

Regarding the BBI, Uhuru revealed that changes to the Constitution proposed through BBI are meant to secure the country’s future.

He revealed that every Journey starts with a single step, taken in faith, at times against all odds.

“Like Moses in the bible,I have seen our future…That journey has commenced with the release of the Building Bridges Initiatives Report. More importantly, let us engage in positive discourse (on BBI) with a view to effecting far-reaching changes,” he said.

“Major changes are needed to our Constitution and other laws so as to lay the foundation for the prosperous future that we seek.”

Murkomen’s critics on Uhuru’s speech does not come as a surprise since he was among the senators who were locked out of parliament while the chosen few met with the president.
