Missing woman’s body parts found buried at Neighbour’s compound

Residents of Ikolomani constituency in Kakamega county were left in shock after a villager discovered human body parts in his compound.

Fabian Muteshi who was harvesting soil for construction of a mud-walled house, made the discovery in his compound.

Mr. Muteshi who stays in Kitengela, Kajiado County, had travelled to the village with his family to build their house – only for him to discover a human skull and bones buried in his compound.

Shocked, Muteshi immediately informed the neighbours, before reporting the matter to the police.

“I was harvesting mud-soil for my new house which I am building, when I found the human skull with other body parts. I have never been so scared,” he said.

The deceased belongs to the family of mzee Paul Lisiolo and has been identified.

According to the family, the deceased is Rosa Kamonya, 37, their daughter who disappeared in September 2022.

“My daughter disappeared last year, while in the company of her two sisters in Shibuname, a nearby village, we have been looking for her ever since,” he said.

Lisiolo added that after viewing the body he was certain that it was that of her daughter.

Esther Khavukwi,  the sister to the deceased claims they reported the disappearance of their sister at Musoli police post, where suspects were arrested and released later.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) exhumed the body parts after obtaining a court order.

A postmortem is set to be done at the Kakamega county General Hospital.
