An 11-year-old boy was on Tuesday arraigned at a Malindi court for allegedly raping a girl aged two years.

The court heard that the accused committed the act on December 17, 2018 at Magarini area.

Appearing before Malindi Chief Magistrate Sylvia Wewa, the boy was also charged with a second count of inappropriately touching the girl’s privates.

He denied the two charges.

The court directed the accused be detained at the juvenile detention in Malindi pending the hearing of the case on January 31, 2019.
