Maribe and Jowie murder case to be heard next month

Maribe released

Journalist Jacque Maribe and her former lover Joseph Irungu a.k.a Jowie’s trial for the killing of businesswoman Monica Kimani will proceed next month in an open court.

Their case came up for hearing virtually on Wednesday where they had sought to have the matter heard in open court.

The matter will be heard from May 5 following Justice Grace Nzioka considered their request.

Maribe and Jowie have denied murdering Monica on September 20, 2018 after Monica’s dead body was found in her bathroom with her throat slit.

Four witnesses have since testified before the court.

The prosecution said that it intends to call 32 more witnesses, four of them are protected while five will be expert witnesses, according to lead prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki.

Maribe and Jowie are both out on a cash bail of Sh2 million each after denying the charges against them.
