Man who leaked video of Senator Loititip smoking shisha jailed

A man who leaked a video of Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip smoking shisha in the company of one woman who was identified as Aeedah Bambi has been sentenced one year imprisonment by a Nairobi court.

Jones Ochieng Mbolo who threatened Aeedah that he would expose her on social media platform, pleaded guilty to attempting to extort money from the woman in the video.

According to the magistrate Martha Mutuku who presided over the case, Mbolo was not remorseful for his actions.

Speaking to the court on 6th march, Mbolo claimed that he had received the video clip from Saumu Sonko, a daughter of a former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, who was said to have been in a romantic relationship with Lamu senator before breaking up in publicized separation.

Mbolo was said to have made more than one attempt to blackmail Loitiptip, until the senator reported the matter to the police after he made the second extortion attempt that which led to his arrest on Monday, February 15th.

Senator Loitiptip had been listed as one of the witness in the case.
