Leopards coach upbeat ahead of Mashemeji derby encounter

AFC Leopards head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo is confident that his charges will perform well as they ready for the much-awaited derby encounter with Gor Mahia on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Mbungo praised Gor Mahia, who are on the verge of defending their title yet again.

“Gor Mahia has done better this season and I think they will win the league but we don’t want this particular game to be the one that gives them the title. This is a derby and the 90 minutes will be what determines the winner,” Andre said.

The Rwandan tactician is doing everything to have a fit squad ahead of the clash with injury concerns in his camp.

“We have prepared very well although we have a few injury concerns. I hope to have a full squad by Sunday. We are ready to battle for the bragging rights and the three points as well but the most important thing for me now that the season is almost over is to plan for the next season by recruiting wisely and building a team that can challenge for the title,” he added.

Kogallo will be crowned league champions if they beat Ingwe.
