Khaligraph Jones and DNA blast DJ Pinye for calling their music mediocre

DJ Pinye has uncovered that he could not play Khaligraph Jones’ music back in the days because the songs were mediocre.

Pinye spoke during an interview with NRG radio, Pnoting that musicians like DNA did not receive airplay for he considered their music content mediocre.

The best African rapper award winner took to his Instagram and stated that he has respect for Pinye and he will, therefore, not releasing a diss track.

“According to DJ Pinye, I used to make mediocre music so he couldn’t play my mediocre music on his TV show. Buda uko na bahati siku hizi nimekua mpole kiasi na nina ka heshima fulani, otherwise distrack ingekuwa ishatembea sahi watu wana sing along mbaya sana. Mazishi ni ile ile,” Khaligraph wrote on his Instagram.

Amid the interview, Pinye additionally said that hits like Lamba Lolo and New Position cannot be played in his shows.

DNA also took to his social account blasting the Veteran DJ, he stated that Pinye shouldn’t bring down upcoming artistes.

“… this guy…..@djpinye, so, according to you, me, @khaligraph_jones and Ethic are mediocre artists. Wah. Boss, you are 48. Do you know at your age, that you can be Lamba Lolo’s father-damn, even Khali’s father, but instead of encouraging them, you are trying to break them down? Hawa wasee wa Lamba Lolo ni wasee wa mtaa vi serious-would you prefer that they were robbing supermarkets and getting killed by cops than doing music? Uko serious,ata kidogo? My song that you refused to play- Banjuka- is Kenya’s biggest pop hit EVER, period. A few months after you turned me down,me and my guys walked into Ogilvy and licensed the song for 100,000$. Yes.A hundred thousand dollars,” DNA’s post reads in part.
