KCSE candidate at Kakimba Mixed Secondary School in Suba North, Homa Bay County died on Monday morning while giving birth.

Faith Atieno Ouko,a candidate in this year’s KCSE exams, went into labor Sunday night, and was hurried to Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she developed difficulties during delivery.

Homa Bay County Police Commander, Marius Tum confirmed the incidence. He said Kakimba School principal Josea Alusa informed him about the girl’s death early Monday.

Atieno’s body was transferred to the hospital’s mortuary. So far three candidates, who were sitting for this year’s KCSE exams, have died in Homa Bay County alone.

CS Education Amina Mohamed urged the school heads to be extra cautious during this examination period.
