KCPE candidate who was killed by lightening after finishing exams scores 357 marks

A KCPE candidate who was killed by lightening immediately he finished his examinations scored 357 marks out of 500.

Swinton Odhiambo and his friend Calvin Ochieng who was a form two student were killed after lightning struck a playground in Homa Bay on November 1, 2018.

Odhiambo had just complete his KCPE examinations at Kawuor Primary School. Ochieng was a student at Obera Secondary School.

The two met their deaths as they were playing football at a local playground in Kabuoch village, Ndhiwa Sub – County.

Two other students sustained burns and were taken to a local hospital.

Assistant chief John Otonge said the duo were pronounced dead on arrival the hospital.

“The KCPE candidate was said to be full of joy after sitting for the exams and was sure of passing the national tests,” Otonge said.

The boy will be buried on 30th November at Ndhiwa, Homabay County.
