Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has vowed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s stand on the 2022 presidential elections.
Kalonzo says being in the opposition has hugely disadvantaged the people of the Ukambani region, and it is time for that all important change.
While speaking on Monday at an Ukambani community consultative meeting at his Yatta farm, Kalonzo emphasised that he would support President Uhuru on whoever he will choose in the 2022 presidential race.
“Kwamba mahali ndugu yangu Uhuru Muiga Kenyatta atakua in the next election cycle, nitakua na yeye hapo. Tutakua zote pamoja and I will be there. Yaani kuna wengine wanajaribu Kalonzo atoke pale aanguke hapa chini. Manataka nitoke kwa hiyo meza?” Kalonzo stated. “That wherever my brother Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta will be in the next election cycle, I will be there. We will be together in all. There are those who are trying to move me away so that I can fall down. Do you want me to move away from that table?”
The wiper party leader also supported the introduction of a Prime Minister post which was highlighted in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
Kalonzo further urged leaders of the Ukambani region to have a common and united stand ahead of the general election.
