Josep Maria Bartomeu rejects to go down as Barcelona president

Despite everything that transpired in the summer at Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu, the club’s president, has reportedly refused to pull down the mantle to other people.

The club’s captain, Lionel Messi, put in a transfer request which was vigorously fought, and now, some players have been forced into contract extensions and pay cuts, with some refusing to put pen to paper due to miscommunication between the players and the managing board

The current president is the key person whom have brought the differences in entire team despite been associated with transfer from the team.

Bartomeu has been in the middle of all this, but the 57-year-old has refused to step down from his position. An open press was cited and Bartomeu spoke out his mind that he is not willing to surrender neither to  throw in the towel.

“It’s not an appropriate time to hand in my resignation. No-one will be able to make the decisions if I decide to resign. The idea of stepping down has never crossed my mind. Never.”

Despite his stance on this, the club members can choose to vote him out, but that can only happen if more than two-thirds of 154,000 members decide it is the best course of action.
