IEBC announces date for Bungoma by-election

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, IEBC, has gazetted dates for various by-elections across the country.

Bungoma is among them.

In a statement, the commission announced that Bungoma will head back to the ballot to elect their senator on December 8, 2022.

This is after Moses Wetang’ula, elected for the third term in the last general elections, resigned to serve as Speaker of the National Assembly.

“By-Election for Ololmasani, Kyome/Thaana, Utawala, Mumias North and South Gem Wards in Narok, Kitui, Nairobi City, Kakamega and Siaya County Assemblies, respectively, scheduled for 8th December 2022,” said IEBC.

Political Parties are required to hold primaries on October 19, 2022 before presenting candidates’ names to IEBC on October 24.
