I wouldn’t mind being in leadership as Prime minister – President Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday  in a meeting with Mount Kenya leaders, gave indication he is open to Prime Minister position.

In a gathering at Sagana State Lodge attended by over 3,000 leaders, the President asked for calmness and said leaders from the region began to talk about the BBI report too soon.

“I do not know the contents of the BBI report yet I hear people claiming Uhuru Kenyatta wants to become the Prime Minister of Kenya. I wouldn’t mind being in leadership in such a post, though let us deal with the current situation first,” President Kenyatta said.

He further denied promising to support opposition leader Raila Odinga in the 2022 elections and asked the leaders to focus on the government agenda and refrain from endorsing candidates and early political campaigns.

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament, Ngunjiri Wambugu, admitted that the comments about the Prime Minister post were made in jest and in speculation of the contents of the BBI report.
