Deputy President William Ruto lit the internet after the Hustler Cup Final held in Vihiga County on Monday, December 23, 2019.

The Deputy President was allowed a chance to score from the penalty spot after a series of events.

Before taking the penalty, the DP set out on a progression of warm-up practices that inspired cheers from the crowd that was watching him.

Ruto did ten press-ups before completing a few legs stretches in preparation of the penalty.

He discharged a shot past the goalkeeper who took some time before jumping into the right direction.

The DP was joined by previous Harambee Stars midfielder turned politician McDonald Mariga in the occasion which was pointed toward advancing local talent.

“Sport is an important activity in the community as it entertains, brings people from diverse regions and backgrounds together and is also a viable source of livelihood for some of our youth”

“We need more facilities and coaching at the grassroots to convert talented youth into professionals by giving them the desired exposure, technical knack, and tricks needed to rise to the next level” stated the Deputy President.
