Former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kennedy Kamto has been shot dead by obscure shooters at his habitation in Nyali, Mombasa County.

Confirming the incident, the County Commissioner Evans Achoki said until this point, they have not arrested any suspect.

As per the police, Kamto was waylaid by three shooters who shot and murdered him as he entered his home.

The hoodlums who had covered their faces are said to have requested cash from the ex-deputy governor before they gunned him down.

Police have launched an investigation to discover the motive of his homicide and a manhunt for the shooters who are still on the loose.

His body has been taken to Pandya Memorial Hospital Mortuary.
