Development projects must be rolled out equitably across the country, says DP Ruto

development projects

Deputy President William Ruto has thrown his weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta pointing out that development projects must be rolled out equitably across the nation.

Central Kenya is gradually rebelling against President Kenyatta following a number of leaders from the region claiming that the president seems to have neglected the region in terms of development.

In a chain of tweets, Ruto urged disaffected leaders to use appropriate means to address their concerns instead of resolving to ways that undermine the head of state and the Jubilee leadership.

“Projects promised for decades became a reality under Jubilee many Kenyans especially Jubilee members understandably are asking us for more. This must be tempered with the reality of what we can afford. No region, community or Kenyan will be left behind now or in future,” he stated.

“Jubilee members must however use appropriate mechanism to channel matters concerning us and avoid unnecessary negative debate that only undermine the party, the party leadership and the President.”

Ruto outlined development projects such as the Standard Gauge Railway, tarmac roads, NHIF reforms, electricity and 160 New TIVETs as among Jubilee’s major achievements.

The rebellion spilt into the public yesterday after leaders from Mt. Kenya region condemned the Uhuru for alluding to some of them as washenzi, loosely translated as idiots.
