COVID-19: 631 new cases, 14 new deaths and 371 recoveries

Kenya has confirmed 631 new COVID-19 infections, tested from a sample of 6,142 as announced by the Ministry of Health,  pushing the country’s total caseload to 47,843 and the total number of samples tested so far to 646,367,

596 of the new cases are locals while 35 are foreigners; 440 are male while 211 are female.

The youngest patient is a 1-year-old child while the oldest is 91.

The cases are distributed across the country as follows: Distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 235, Mombasa 76, Kilifi 52, Kisumu 30, Uasin Gishu 28, Bungoma 23, Busia 23, Kiambu 22, Machakos 21,

Nyeri 15, Kajiado 13, Homabay 12, Kisii 12, Trans Nzoia 11, Meru 10, Siaya 7, Turkana 6, , Elgeyo Marakwet 6, Kakamega 4, Marsabit 3, Nakuru 3, Narok 3, Embu 3, Nyamira 2, Nandi 2, Makueni 2, Vihiga 2, Nyandarua 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Murang’a 1, Isiolo 1 and Kwale 1.

The Ministry of Health has also announced 14 new COVID-19 deaths, pushing the total number of fatalities so far to 884.

The total number of recoveries has risen to 33,421 after 371 recovered; 313 were from the Home-Based Care and Isolation while 58 were discharged from various hospitals across the country.

There are 20 patients receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 59 are on supplementary oxygen while 16 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

1,142 patients are currently admitted in various hospitals while 3,238 are receiving care under the Home-Based Care and Isolation.
