Confusion engulfs Kisumu village as coffin with live chicken and snail found dumped

Residents of Kogony Korando village within Kisumu County have been left puzzled after a small coffin was found dumped in one of the homesteads within the area.

Silvestor Okero, the owner of the homestead revealed he found a small coffin in his home in the morning, got scared and called one of his neighbours to come and witness what he had seen in his homestead.

“The coffin was sealed so I did not open it but called one of my neighbours to come and help me on this, “Okero said.

Okero added it was the first time that thing is happening, suspecting it was staged by a close relative. He said this was the first time such a thing was happening.

“I don’t have any issue with anyone but I suspect this might be from my close relative with who we are having land issues with,” he added.

The neighbours at the scene reported the matter to the Riat police station before the coffin was opened later.

Inside the coffin was a live chicken with a rosary on the neck, a snail amongst other strange things tied on it.

The locals took the coffin out of the homestead and burnt the coffin with the content inside.

However, the witnesses advised the neighbours to offer prayers to the family members deeming the incidence as a pure witchcraft.
