Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi reminds Dr. Matiang’i of “wise words”

Blogger Cyprian Nyakundi on Thursday kicked up a storm on social media, after he posted “Matiang’i’s 2021 wise words.”

This came on the wake of a controversial police siege on the former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i’s home.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the blogger satirically posted what he termed as Fred Matiangi 2021 wise words.

“The police have all the rights to search every house and to arrest any individual they believe has committed a crime. Let us not politicise the work of our police officers,” he posted to the amusement of his followers.

On Wednesday evening, Kenyans were alerted to the news of a police raid on Dr. Matiang’i’s home.

Reports indicated that the police arrived at the former CS’s Karen home minutes before 10pm.

However, Inspector General of police Japheth Koome denied the claims.

“I wish to clarify that no police officer under the NPS was sent to former CS Matiang’i residence at all,” the police chief said on Thursday morning.

Initial reports suggested Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers were after the former CS, but EACC chief executive Twalib Mbarak told journalists last night that his team had nothing to do with the reported raid.

Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga arrived at Matiang’i’s home minutes after 10 pm. He sought to ascertain why the police had laid siege at the former CS’s home.
