Political parties from Bungoma county under Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Party fold have vowed to win the forthcoming by-election.
Addressing the press after a meeting in Bungoma town, the leaders pledged their support for Wafula Wamunyinyi, the DAP-K Party Leader whom they endorsed to fly their flag in the race.
“I would like to thank Azimio affiliate parties for seeing it fit to endorse me as their candidate; this way we have formed a formidable team,” said Wamunyinyi.
The meeting brought together leaders and delegates from DAP-K, Wiper, Jubilee and ODM from across Bungoma county.
“After wide consultations, we settled on Wamunyinyi because he is the most experienced,” said ODM county chair Ali Machani Mutoka.
Further, Machani who also doubles as Maraka ward MCA, lauded Wamunyinyi as a focused leader.
” In him we have a fearless leader who will legislate, represent and oversight devolution,” he declared.
On his part, DAP-K Secretary General Dr. David Eseli Simiyu, lauded Azimio for agreeing to front one candidate.
Other leaders present were Jubilee secretary Juma Lubakaya, DAP-K Bungoma chair Chrisantus Makokha among other delegates.
Wamunyinyi declared his interest to vie for the seat on Saturday.
He announced his bid after calls from various stakeholders among them sugarcane farmers and professionals.
