A man, 33, was assaulted by unknown individuals who supposedly sodomized him before killing him on Thursday night.

Inhabitants of Gatura town in Elburgon, Molo electorate, approached the police to bring to book the murderers.

Occupants said the body, which was dumped at a thicket along Ndimu-Mwatu road, had ‘indications of being sodomized’.

The episode left residents in shock coming seven days after they held protests over increased insecurity.

Area commander Bethwel Kibe affirmed the occurrence, saying that: “The deceased body was discovered by passersby in the morning at around 9am as they were on their way to attend to their day to day activities.”

Patrick Kanyi, who was among the first to land at the scene, detailed the issue to Elburgon police headquarters.

The body was taken to Elburgon sub-province medical clinic anticipating an after death examination.

Area assistant county commissioner, Naftali Korir, urged locals to help the police with investigations.

“I call upon the locals to assist the police in bringing the culprits to book by sharing any useful information as this will go a long way in addressing security concerns,” he said.
