A 30-year-old man is being held by police at Mshomoroni area in Kisauni Sub-county, Mombasa, after he stabbed his two daughters to death

Police arrested James Maina on Thursday evening at his house several minutes after killing his 6 and 4-year-old daughters.

One of the girls had been stabbed on the chest while the other on the neck.

The motive behind Maina’s heinous act was not immediately clear.

The neighbours who raised alarm said the suspect was drunk at the time of the occurance.

Maina was locked up at the Nyali Police Station.

Investigations into the incident are underway.
