The High Court has extended provisional orders by one month and 16 days blocking the impeachment of Vihiga Deputy Governor Dr Patrick Saisi.
Justice William Musyoka extended the orders to September 20 when the matter will also come up for discussion.
The directives were first issued on July 26, faltering the impeachment that had led to political intense in the county.
At the same time, some ward representatives led by Shamakhokho MCA Douglas Beru had indicated they would abandon the ouster plan.
However, Saisi’s impeachment motion that is campaigned by Wodanga MCA Vincent Atsiaya is still active in the assembly which is currently on a short break.
Vihiga Deputy Governor has been accused of insubordination, violation of the Constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct as grounds for his removal.
Saisi moved to court last month on July 26 and sued Vihiga County assembly as the sole respondents and listing Governor Ottichilo as an interested party. He has in the past blamed Governor Ottichilo for his woes since parting ways with his boss in February this year.
Dr Ottichilo on his side has accused his deputy for leaking confidential County Executive Committee documents to non-cabinet members adding that Dr Saisi broke the protocol when he wrote to the Speaker of County Assembly Hasna Mudeizi bidding her to interfere with the actions of the County Executive Committee.
