Masinde Muliro University is mourning the death of Dean school of Arts and Social Science, Dr. Perez Wenje who passed on today in the morning, while receiving treatment at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The dean was reported to have fallen sick after attending the burial of his mother in Migori County two weeks back.
The lecturer died from Acute Pneumonia this is per the Director of Corporate Communication in the institution, Dr. Lydia Anyoje.
“We are currently headed to his home in Kisumu to meet family members for consultation on the next move, following the death of our colleague,” said Anyonje.
Masinde Muliro’s Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Solomon Shabairo comforted the bereaved family with a message of condolence.
“I have learned with sorrow this morning of the demise of Dr. Perez Wenje, Dean school of Arts and Social Science. He has been unwell since he lost his mother about two weeks ago.” Said Shabairo.
On behalf of the entire MMUST fraternity, we pass our heartfelt condolences to entire family of Dr Wenje, SASS and MMUST fraternity, may God comfort us and give strength to bear loss.
“Lets join hands in helping the family physically, emotionally, financially and prayer,” added Dr. Shabairo.
Dr. Wenje has been serving as a dean since January 2019 when he replaced the Late Dr. Bob Mbori who died while undergoing treatment in India.
