2018 KCSE candidate hangs himself over poor results

A Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate has committed suicide after scoring low grades in this year’s examinations released on Friday.

The episode took place in Bokomweri village in Majimazuri Sub Location in Nyamache Sub County.

According to area chief Meshack Nyang’ara, the boy locked himself in the house after confirming his results on the SMS and hanged himself using a piece of cloth.

The chief did not reveal the boy’s grades.

The results were released on yesterday by Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed.

Students with University level qualification of C+ and above hit 90,377 an increase compared to 70, 073.
