Two people lost their lives and 13 others injured on Sunday morning after a 14-seater public service vehicle collided with a lorry at Mau Summit area on the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

Kuresoi North Deputy County Commissioner Felix Wafula confirmed the incident, saying that the matatu’s driver was trying to make a u-turn on the road when the vehicle was hit by the lorry from behind.

The injured were rushed to Nakuru County Referral Hospital and Eldama Ravine District Hospital in Baringo County.

Wafula pointed out that a search was ongoing for the driver of the lorry who escaped after the occurrence.
